Release #2

Hello sweet friends and happy Wednesday!

We’re delighted and grateful for your response to the first release of chipboard words and happy to be bringing you release #2 from myself, Lasered Edge and Love is in the Details!  This time we have an assortment of sentiments for cards from a simple Hello, to You Rock, and Get Well Soon.

And as you’ll see from the samples I made, I was all about popping up the sentiments on these cards.  Again, I have to say, I love how these chippie words just make the card, and require so little else in the way of adornment!  They really come together lickety split!

For this first card, I left the ‘Hello’ chipboard bare, with just a clear embossed design to highlight the natural color.  I also white embossed the polka dot background on vellum and added the vellum butterfly because I thought it just coordinated so well!

Next, I heat embossed the ‘Miss You’ sentiment with yellow embossing powder.  It was like I’ve been collecting all those colors of emboss powder all these years, JUST for this product!  Then, after telling my heart to settle down, we have work to do, I gold stamp/embossed some watercolor paper and watercolored the swirly background design.  Then I popped up the sentiment on the background and added some buttons tied with gold thread.

Card number 3 also uses a sentiment that was heat embossed with pink emboss powder.  The background is just a white heat embossed design and again the ‘Get Well Soon’ sentiment is popped up.  This finely cut chipboard took a bit more patience to mount with dimensional foam squares, cutting them to thin, thin pieces for the tiny areas, but it worked well and I’m declaring it a success!

‘Just a Note’ is the simplest of them all, with a plain black stamped image, a little coloring with markers, a spray painted sentiment and a few black pearl dots.

For this ‘Thinking of You’ card, I went a little crazy with the adornments.  All bits that were in my big collection bowl where I toss the leftovers from other projects.  When I saw the happy coincidence of their common colors and shine, I just had to figure out a way to USE ALL THE THINGS!  The sentiment is gold spray painted and covered with a layer of Glossy Accents.  I’ll be honest….I’m not happy with my expertise with the Glossy Accents bottle, but I’ve learned my lesson.  I will not cover things with Glossy Accents after dark when I can’t see what I’m doing.  Next attempt will be much better I’m sure.

And now that’s going to be the first thing you notice, right?  Sigh…

And for the final card – ‘You Rock’ – I started pouncing my black ink pad on the sentiment and before I was done, decided I liked that rough patchy look so well, I should just stop!  I think it particularly suits the masculine papers and the sentiment itself.  Like a rock.  This sentiment is also popped up on the background of variously sized circles cut from random patterned papers.

Lori has this new package of chipboard sentiments stocked in the store now and ready for you to “add to cart”.

I’m really looking forward to showing you a few more designs, and demo-ing a cool project or two at the upcoming crop in April!  I hope you’ll be there!

Thanks for stopping by today!

  • Bravo!  These are so awesome, and it’s so amazing to see them out of the package and on the cards!  Love these – you did a beautiful job!

  • Totally love these cards Norine! And I love the way the chipboard phrases finish them off perfectly! I have a question….on your 3rd card that white flower on the background….is it a stamp and if so who makes it? I think I’ve seen it before but I really like it!

  • Love these sentiments Norine. Embossing them gives them a completely different look. This definitely a set I will buy…Oh Lori!!!!

  • Another fun release !!!!!!  Great cards and with these words they look like they come together quickly no more searching for letters to see if you have enough to make a word !!!!!
