Good evening everyone, are you getting some snow tonight like we are? Bit of a late night here, lots going on, the kids are keeping us very busy with their hockey schedules!
Christmas seems to be sneaking up quick this year…so I’m trying to get some more Christmas cards ready before time runs out!
I have LOTS of new Tim Holtz goodies that have yet to be christened….that’s never good, these supplies are too amazing to let them sit!! 🙂
When Tim showed his summer release I was beyond excited at all the new items, but one of my top favorites was his new Ice Skate die. I figure skated until I was 18, I love being on the ice…the sounds the smells (not the locker rooms mind you), just everything about it so this die was at the top of my list!
Even though I’ve hung up my figure skates for hockey skates I will always remember my passion for figure skating…perhaps a scrappbook page is in order here?! LOL
I cut the ice skates from Grunge Paper painting the boot portion with some white paint. The heel was inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and the blade was painted with Old Silver Inka Gold.
As you can see the ice skates take centre stage on the card. The backdrop was created layering the black Core’dinations cardstock, which was embossed using the Tim Holtz Book Cover Texture Fade, over a piece of paper from Tim’s Merriment Paper pack.
To frame out the ice skates I added Tim’s Ornate Frame die which was cut from Grunge Paper and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
A touch of ribbon & some rusted bells were added to finish it off!
Thank you for stopping by, I hope my card has inspired you today!
