A touch of gold!

Good evening everyone, how was your weekend?  I spent the weekend in Winkler where Lori hosted her annual Spring Crop, what an amazing event as always!!  I won’t spill too many details, I know Lori has taken lots of photos to share here with everyone!

I will share with you what I had all the ladies make with me. 🙂

Lori found a new product from Viva Decor called Inka Gold that we had yet to play with…and after seeing a few things on the internet we knew these would be pretty awesome!  At the beginning of the crop we had almost every color available, and by the end it was almost all sold out…but don’t worry, Lori is bringing more in!

Inka Gold is a paint with beeswax as one of the main ingredients, which makes this paint so creamy and easy to use.  Using a piece of foam or your finger all you need to do is rub it on your project, give it about 30 seconds and it’s dry!!

We used the Inka Gold on some chipboard picture frames, along with die cuts to decorate the frames.  Everyone had a choice between a feminine or masculine frame.  They also had a 5 of the Inka Gold colors to work with, Haematite, Old Silver, Lava Red, Green Yellow and Cobalt Blue.

Here’s the feminine frame, which the Old Silver was used for the frame, and all 5 colors were used to create the flower embellishment.

Here’s a closer look at the flower…..

This frame was definitely more popular, and of course I always encourage artistic freedom…the color choices some of the ladies went with looked so amazing!

Knowing that we don’t all have little ladies in our lives so giving everyone another more masculine option is always nice, and I have to say the ladies that choose this option did a fabulous job as well!  🙂

And here’s a close look of those gears and the pocket watch.  If you look really close you will see that a couple of the gears have some added texture…I did that using a crackle background stamp and Archival Ink in black!

This frame was covered in Haematite, and the gears were covered using the Haematite, Old Silver and Cobalt Blue!

If you weren’t able to join us this weekend and have the chance to play with the Inka Gold I found this video on YouTube from Viva Decor, enjoy!

Ok I need to go and unpack from the weekend, have a great week!!
