Wings of hope

Hello and TGIF!! 🙂

I continue to play with the leftover heart die cut papers, exploring different ways to use them. Today I have 2 tags to share which are similar, yet different in the end!

I picked two different heart papers from my pile and coffee-stained them slightly. The coffee stain made them a little softer in colour & not so bright. Also helped them blend into my tags since they’re all coffee stained.

I overlaid the heart paper and trimmed it to fit each tag before adding the collage bits and embellishments.

Sitting on my desk I have a little container which holds mini scraps, you know those tiny bits that we hoard, well they are perfect for this type of layering and collaging! Added this sweet couple from Tim Holtz Photobooth, some stitching and called it done!

On this tag two of the hearts are filled using part of the gelli print from my last post. When I had that die cut piece on my Gel Press plate it acted like a stencil allowing me to pull up just the hearts with a sheet of deli paper.

This collage bit was a mix of things from my scrap container, including a bit of a tea bag! Oh how I adore using tea bags! These sweet littles from Tim Holtz Paper Dolls finished it off, along with more stitching.

Did I mention my Christmas gift was a new sewing machine, I’m sure I did, but I just love it, so you’ll see lots more stitching on my projects!

I hope these little tags have given you some ideas and some inspiration to get creative this weekend!
