The month of love isn’t quite over yet, so I have another ‘love’ project to share today!
I asked Lori to have a big heart cut for me as the backing of this project, it measures at the largest points 8×8. Such a fun piece to work with, and I believe she may be selling these in the store, if not yet at some point.
I used our wedding colours for this project, navy blue, white & silver. Actually the little blue flowers are leftovers from our wedding cake that my Mom made!
All these LIITD Laser Cut chipboard pieces from the January release were the inspiration for my project. They are so perfect and reflect exactly what Mike and I were feeling all those years ago on our wedding day.
And yes those fluttery hearts still beat inside us today 😉
To start this piece I added some texture paste using stencils and a pallet knife to the background. I wanted to raise the photo up as well so using some Prima molds I created a fun backdrop, with the pieces just peeking out. I actually used hot glue to create the molded pieces, worked like a charm!!
Next everything got a layer of black gesso, then I dry brushed on Finnabair Deep Waters Metallique paint. Oh I’m a little addicted to these paints!
For extra highlights on the texture I used Finnabair Old Silver Metallique wax. The chipboard was also coloured using Finnabair paints, the pictures really don’t do them justice!
Lots of flowers, lots of splatters and mostly a whole lot of love went into this project!!
