It’s that time of year again where everyone is getting ready for a new school year!
This year my oldest starts his first year of University, and the youngest joins his sister in High School!
In honor of this time of year I have my own version of a back to school project.
I found this little pencil box at the dollar store and with school supplies everywhere I was inspired to pull it out and play!
I started by giving the entire box a coat of black gesso, inside and out. Yes I did end up covering up the cute ruler top!
I’ve been seeing lots of altered paintbrush projects and was inspired to add one to this box. It was the perfect fit since the box is quite narrow!
I pulled out some exclusive Love Is In The Details laser cut Chipboard adding pieces both under and on top of the paint brush. Of course I had to add some texture to the project using Finnabair White Sand Texture paste.
The box was coated with green paint then I treated the paintbrush to layers of Finnabair Patina Paste and touches of Rust Paste. I love how these colours go so well together!
I seem to have a thing for butterflies too, they appear often in my projects! I hope like this project you will give your own creativity the wings it needs to fly!!!
Now I just need to find some little fun treasures to keep in my fun pencil box!
Good luck to everyone returning to school this week!
