Happy August Long Weekend! I hope everyone is taking some time to enjoy the extra day off and some sunny weather this weekend!
A couple weekends ago I headed to Winkler for a day crop, it was a very last minute decision and I’m so glad I went. Got to spend the day visiting with friends and playing with new scrappy supplies! What could possibly be better?!
While I was there I managed to pick up paper and embellishments for a new line called Boys Rule from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. We all know that boy themed lines are rare and ones suit teenage boys is even more rare. Well this line is perfect and VERY popular!! Lori does have more on order but it keeps selling out so fingers crossed she can get more soon!
I have two different projects to share with you today, a scrapbook page, something I haven’t made for a long time, and a 5×7 canvas.
Now that my boys are teens it’s not often they allow me to snap their picture, but with both them celebrating school graduations I finally got them in front of the camera!
Sean finished grade 8 this year and moves onto high school next month. This line was an absolutely perfect match for this picture of him all ready for his graduation celebration!
I had so much fun digging through all the embellishments and die cuts that came with this line, I had to stop myself from trying to use them all on this one page! Oh and the ‘Mr. Fantastic’ made me giggle, my Dad used to call my oldest son Mr. Perfect, so I thought why not call my youngest son Mr. Fantastic!!!
The scribble circle piece at the top right of the photo is one of the fabulous Laser Cut Chipboard pieces from the store!
This line can easily be used for girls too, the papers are fairly neutral in pattern which makes them so versatile!
This little canvas came together pretty quick! I covered the canvas with one of the papers from the Boys Rule line and added some of the tags as well.
That cute camera peeking out is another piece that came in one of the die cut packages for this line. And of course the ‘Love You Forever’ is one of Lori’s Laser Cut Chipboard pieces covered with white embossing powder!
I have to say it was fun playing with this line, I’ll be pulling it out again in the near future! I do have some amazing photos of my oldest from his grad that are just waiting their turn!
Enjoy your weekend and try to get some creative time in!
