I’m back today with a fun set of cards to share with you! Fun to give, but even better, fun to make!
I used all the stamps from the Taylored Expressions Bubble Greetings set. Let me say, if you buy only one stamp set and you want it to cover all your card giving needs, make it this one. It says what you most often need to send a card to say, and it has an was and fun component in the coloring of the letters.
I stamped the “hello FRIEND” and “THANK you” stamps onto watercolor paper and white heat embossed them, then smeared Distress Oxide inks onto my craft mat, spritzed them with water and smooshed the stamped card fronts into the color puddles several times, letting each layer dry before going back for more.
After the ink was dry, I went in with a matching Copic pen and “emphasized” the color at the bottom of each letter, lightening as it went higher.
The coral colored card below was die cut with a decorative die and had more of the Distress ink sponged on around the edges.
Next, I stamped the remaining two sentiments in Versafine Onyx black ink onto Strathmore smooth cardstock and colored those letters with Zig real brush markers. Because the paper has a smooth surface to it, the colors move around and blend nicely before they’re absorbed into the paper and dry.
On the Happy Birthday card above, I’ve colored each letter individually with two different colors of markers, then blended them together with a water brush.
The Just a Note card below was super quick and simple because I just colored each letter with it’s own color and added a few puffy hearts from Bella Blvd to complete it.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’ve found a fun idea to try when you get a moment to be creative!
