I don’t know if you are/were a Full House fan … but if you were you will recognize the title as a reference to a Full House episode in which dad Danny uses his “clipboard of fun” to micromanage the family’s vacation in Hawaii. This post, however, has nothing to do with Full House or a trip to Hawaii … I simply needed a title, lol.
On Saturday, we hosted a National Scrapbooking Day Crop and I was able to be a participant and do some scrapbooking. I gotta say … I loved it, I totally understand why people want to do this, it was a ton of fun. We hosted it at the Quality Inn Conference Centre, we love the space, and it’s just a hop and a skip across the street to the store, perfect location … and you just can’t beat the service and the food.
We started off our day with breakfast – yogurts, muffins, croissants, and fruit salad, of course coffee (or tea). I got myself organized, picked out the project I was going to do, and started creating. The time flew by and before we knew it was lunch time. We were treated to six fantastic salads (omg, they were SO good), shrimp chowder, chicken noodle soup, homemade WARM buns, and homemade pie for dessert. Can you say … time for a nap?
But, no, seriously we got right back to scrapping, chatting, and laughing all afternoon. Two trips to the store (it was fun to be a customer) and then I got right back to my project. Supper time came quick enough – chili, garlic toast, those awesome salads, and french vanilla ice cream with cinnamon sugared nachos. Absolutely delicious! Ice water, coffee and tea available to us all day long, great company, fabulous food, eight feet of scrappy space … so awesome!
I loved creating the little project I was working on, and it was so fun to be making it while visiting with everyone. I have to say Prima Marketing has ROCKED the new ephemera packs – everything in this Vintage Emporium pack is so awesome! The little bottle was just perfect for the Paris label and seal of approval die cut.
I have been wanting to try out the decoupage papers in the store and the Tim Holtz mini clipboard seemed to be the perfect choice to test it out on. I applied the decoupage papers with Cosmic Shimmer Glue and Seal – I used the matte – I loved it and highly recommend this product. I have not decoupaged for years and years (way back in elementary school) and it was just as fun now as it was then). (***We did have a lot more decoupage papers … but quite a few sold out on Saturday … but more have been ordered.)
It was a fantastic day … and by request, we will be scheduling these crops monthly … stay tuned to the Crops and Events page … and of course facebook and instagram.
