I was busy this morning making a Julie Nutting doll tag. Can you believe there are 4 different pattern papers on the tag? They all work well together even though the dark blue layer isn’t in the same line. I added the north star stencil to it with texture paste. when it was dry, I added dots to the centres of some of the stars using liquid pearls. It is very important to wait for your liquid pearls to dry… for some reason, I never have the patience to wait and I always pay the price. I tucked a acetate doily under the layers of the tag and toped it with some wooden leaves and a flower that had been covered in gesso and spritzed with Lindy’s stamp gang sprays in tibetan poppy teal and tiffany’s blue. as soon as I sprayed them, I dabbed them with a cloth. This made for a subtle effect on top of the gesso. Decorative glitter brads were added to the crochet flowers. I added some flower trim to the bottom that had been dyed to match the tag with some faded jeans distress ink and a little water. The doll was stamped and her dress and head band was paper pieced. She is coloured with Copics and her hair is water coloured with gathered twigs distress ink . I used this water brush and it makes the finest of painting easy.
I love making these tags. I hope you find some time to try one of the Julie Nutting doll stamps and create your very own tag.
